Bobbye Jean Wagner is an author, producer, and the driving force behind the Pink Canopy Foundation. Her life's work is deeply rooted in her personal experience as the child of a parent struggling with mental illness—a journey that profoundly shaped her understanding of the overlooked pain and challenges that children in similar situations face. Growing up in an environment shadowed by mental illness, Bobbye often felt unseen, her needs eclipsed by the turmoil surrounding her. This experience ignited a lifelong passion to ensure that no child in similar circumstances feels forgotten. 

Through her documentary "The Pink Canopy," Bobbye courageously shares the story of her mother's battle with mental illness, shining a light on the struggles that often remain hidden behind closed doors. The documentary is a call to action, urging society to break the silence and acknowledge the children who are too often left in the shadows. 

Her book, "Life under The Pink Canopy," goes further, exploring the deep, lasting impact of her mother's illness on her own life. It’s a testament to her resilience and faith, and a heartfelt message to others who are on similar journeys. 

Bobbye's latest initiative, the S.E.E.D.S. program (Sowing, Enriching Experiences, Developing, Self-Worth), is a culmination of her mission to give children what she missed—a chance to feel valued, to experience joy, and to build self-worth. Through this program, she aims to provide enriching experiences that foster growth and empowerment, ensuring that these children, too, can blossom despite their challenging circumstances.
